At that point, a cup of hot chocolate would have tasted really good because I was so cold. However, those of you who have travelled overseas know, you "don't drink the water" (or the soda) unless you want a real good case of "Montezuma's Revenge" better known as "the runs!"

78 viewsI flew to Frankfurt, Germany, and stayed with some friends while I waited for a flight to Barcelona. It took several days, as most of the flights had been filled for months. Finding a hotel was another problem. After many inquiries, and three subway rides, I finally found a room at a hotel with no AC, and costs over $200.00 a night. I'm in front of the hotel eating a ham sandwich that I bought in a nearby deli.

72 viewsWhy am I so happy? Because after the heat, the humidity, 3,967 mosquito bites and little AC to be found, I'm happy that I am going HOME! The falls were incredible, and I really enjoyed seeing them, but if you aren't a hot weather person, it takes some persevering to make it through three days.

56 viewsAt the highest point of the cliffs you see this round, stone tower. It is the O'Brien Tower. Folklore says that in 1835, Sir Cornelius O'Brien believed that since many Victorian people came to visit the cliffs, that this tower should be built thus benefiting the local economy and bring poor people out of poverty. But then it also says that he built the tower to impress female visitors! I wonder if it worked.......impressing females that is!

54 viewsThere were only thirteen of us in the group, so it was a wonderful two-week tour. Since there were so few us, we were able to do a lot of things that the large groups can't do. I was surprised at the hospitality of most of the Vietnam people. I hadn't known what to expect. We were actually invited into a home where the son had been killed by the Americans. Fortunately, I was able to leave with a very good feeling about the country. I am just so sorry so many men and women didn't leave that way.
